Cut each grapefruit in half and use a paring knife to separate each segment from the rind. Use a paper towel to blot any juice from the top of the grapefruit.
Sprinkle each half evenly with one tablespoon of brown sugar. Use a kitchen torch to evenly melt all of the sugar until golden and bubbly.
If you do not have access to a kitchen torch, place grapefruit on a baking sheet and use a broiler on high for 3-5 minutes or until sugar is melted and begins to bubble. Check often to avoid burning.
